Chances of successfully removing a tattoo depend on several factors. In the first visit it is evaluated and the patient is properly informed about all the variables that influence results.
Influencing factors for laser removal of tattoos:
- Type of tattoo.
- Body Location.
Black ink: Black virtually absorbs all wavelengths well. The ideal laser to use is Neodymium-Yag Q-Switched with 1064 nm wavelength. The difficulty of this colour lies in its high density and stability.
Blue or green Ink or these colours mixed: Peak absorption of these colours and composition are variable and basically determined by the amount of titanium oxide or zinc.
Yellow and red ink: With the Q-Switched 532nm we achieve good results quickly.
